Several Januarys ago, we had the opportunity to record live versions of a few songs with our friend Paul Zimmerman-Clayton. Paul helped us produce Faint Not. Under the tutelage of Mr. Zimmerman-Clayton, we were able to record all of the songs in one 8 hour session (except One-Eyed Cat which is live from a Nashville house show). It was crazy.
We recorded the entire album live, without a metronome. Over the years, we’ve added a few things, but the instrumentation on this album is still generally faithful to our live show: Jenny (voice); Tyler (voice); a guitar; mandolin; suitcase kick drum; and glockenspiel.
It was nearing midnight when we tracked ‘This Is Just So Beautiful,’ hence the extra-mellow version. We hope the live energy behind each performance draws you in and for those of you who signed up at a show, serves as a souvenir of sorts, a reminder of the concert, or…if you’ve not yet been to a show, give you a glimpse of what it might be like.

Further .zip Instructions: After several minutes of downloading, double-click the .zip file in order “extract the file.” You should find the folder on your Desktop, or in your Documents or Downloads folder. From there, drag the files into iTunes or open iTunes and select “add to library.” Find your folder, select the files and click “OK.” You can now put them on your iPod or create a playlist (File: New Playlist), drag them to this playlist, stick a blank CD in and click burn.
