So if you read this blog regularly, you may notice that I have a slight obsession with brownies. Really chocolate in general. I’ve really been praying that God would change my taste buds and that I would suddenly really love fruit or something healthier, but alas I can’t help it. I just love chocolate. So I’ve been on a quest to find the perfect made-from-scratch brownies. While I do love brownies from the box and they are really very simple to make I’m not a huge fan of all the chemicals and preservatives that come with them. I’ve tried probably 6 or so brownie recipes in the past few months (I like to make them whenever we’re home) and I think I’ve finally found what I’ve been looking for. They are chocolatey, fudgey, and delicious, just as brownies should be.

Ingredients and instructions:
6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
1/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup flour
2 eggs
(I use all organic ingredients and cane sugar which has a slightly different consistency from just regular white sugar and they come out just fine.)
Directions: Preheat the oven to 325. Melt the butter and then stir in the cocoa. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Pour the batter into a greased 8×8 inch pan. The recipe I used says to bake the brownies from 35-40 minutes, however I don’t know if it’s just my oven or something but I only had to bake them for 25. I usually bake brownies and things for about that long and they come out nice.
They are delicious. We’ve eaten almost all of them already so I think I may be making another batch this afternoon! Yum!
