Hello friends!
I write to you from the bus in Greensboro, NC. Yes, I said bus. I’ve had multiple moments on this little tour where I’ve asked myself, “Where am I? How did I get here?” It’s not that I don’t know, it’s just that I can’t believe the Groves actually asked us to join their tour, and I’m still finding it hard to believe that Tyler and I actually make music together for a living. Sometimes I think this whole thing might actually work out. We’ll see.
We had a day off in Greensboro yesterday. We spent it hanging out with Audrey and having dinner with a family that’s hosted a couple of house shows for us here. It’s so good to see them. Their little girls are ridiculously cute. You may have seen the video we posted on a facebook about a month ago with Grayson singing, “You gave up your fattest cat…ever.” Last night it was your “black-eyed cat.” She loves the song, but just can’t seem to get the cat right.
Last week was incredibly humbling. It literally takes 10 full days for my tongue to heal after a seizure, and it always gets a lot worse before it gets better. On Thursday it felt awful. I was hardly talking to anyone and I didn’t eat anything but soup. It just hurt too much. Thankfully we didn’t have a show that night, but the next morning I woke up in even worse pain and started throwing up. I literally have not been ill like that in at least 5 years. Everyone on the tour was so understanding. Tyler’s mom was only 45 minutes away so she came and sat with me while Tyler went to rehearsal. A doctor came to visit me in my hotel room (serioulsy?!) and prescribed an antibiotic. Up until about 6pm I really wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to perform. But I’d made up my mind that I was going to. We were standing backstage, about to be announced and I thought, “I don’t know if this is such a good idea.” Miraculously, the Lord gave me strength and I was able to make it through the 20 minute set. We played everything slow because I really just couldn’t keep up, but the pitch was there and I was even able to talk some. It was incredible.
The Lord is so faithful.

Hey this is Emily from Springfield, I just read your blog. I didn’t realize you have seizures. My brother does too. He got in a car accident, well actually he’s been in three, but has scarring on his brain. He’s doing well though. I pray for healing Jenny, and also strength for the tour! Blessings in Jesus,

Hi–saw you in Indianapolis. You were wonderful, and my husband has enjoyed watching your videos. Our kids have epilepsy, so we understand some of what you’re going through. Thanks for sharing your gifts!

I love that everything happening to you at the moment feels so surreal to both of you – it reveals your humbleness. It seems to be His plan for you though, so embrace it! The Lord is faithful indeed and it is so beautiful to see Him use [such sweet] people for His glory!
Jenny – My friend has been suffering from epilepsy her whole life. She used to say: ‘Every seizure is a painful experience, but it has taught me so much – about myself, about letting go, about healing, and most importantly about who God is.’ I am glad that you are obviously able to see through the hardness. I will be praying for you.
