The smalltown-ness of Nashville.

I’m sitting in Fido again. I picked a window seat this morning so I could people watch along 21st. Just a few minutes ago a girl approached me and kind of nervously said, “I know this is totally weird, but what’s your name?” I told her I was Jenny and she proceeded to tell me that she knew who I was because she’s good friends with our buddy Joel Rakes (www.joelrakes.com, pick up the album on itunes). We got to talking and it turns out that she lives like 2 minutes away from us and goes to a church that is literally around the corner from where we live. She also works a few doors down from where I work. I think we’re going to hang out on Sunday. Nashville is such a big city, but small town stuff like that happens all the time. It’s exciting to make a new friend.

Today is day 6 of my 7 days of 8 hour shifts. I’m super excited to have a day off on Wednesday. Tyler is off too, so we’ll get to spend some time together.

As far as the music goes…Tyler’s working on recording the guitar parts to the album, we’ll get our vocals recorded, and then we’ll go from there. I’m not entirely sure as to what the feel of this album will be, but I think it’s going to be pretty awesome.

An update on shows here in Nashville: we have 3 booked so far. Here are the dates:

Sept. 11, Christopher Pizza, 8pm

Sept. 22, Starbucks Greenhills (across the street from the mall), 7pm

Nov. 10, Cafe Coco, 8pm

We’ve been here for a little over two weeks. Time flies!
