The whopper cookie recipe

A few weeks ago I posted a photo of a fresh batch of whopper cookies on our facebook page. A few folks asked for the recipe, so I thought I’d oblige. This recipe is from my Grandma.

Ingredients:
2/3 cup butter
3 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/4 ups brown sugar
1 1/2 cups chunky peanut butter
2 tsp. baking soda
6 cups old fashioned oats
2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups raisins (I don’t like raisins so I don’t include them)

In a large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Blend in sugars, eggs, and peanut butter; mix until smooth. Remove from heat. Add oats, baking soda, raisins, and chocolate chips. Drop on a greased baking sheet with a 1/4 cup measuring cup or large spoon. You will need to mold the cookie together and flatten it slightly. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes. The cookies will set as they cool.

They should look something like this:

Happy baking!
